Kulm \u2013 a way to go:<\/strong><\/div>\n
This themed trail was constructed by pupils of the LFZ Raumberg-Gumpenstein (AREC \u2013 Agricultural Research and Education Centre Raumberg-Gumpenstein) within the course of a project, together with the Tourist Association of the Grimming Mountain Region and the Municipality of Aigen in the Enns Valley in 2014. The trail starts at the campsite itself. Themed puzzle trail around the woods \u2013 great fun for the whole family.<\/div>\n

Planneralm Alp and Dwarf Pine Distillery:<\/strong><\/div>\n
Planneralm Alp, the highest mountain village and ski-resort in Styria, is accessible all year round via the toll-free Planneralm alpine road. There is a whole host of activities on offer: a visit to the dwarf pine distillery, archery, walking and hiking \u2013 an adventure packed summer holiday for the whole family.<\/div>\n

Aigen Divining Rod Trail\/Theme Path:<\/strong><\/div>\n
This trail is an introduction to the art of dowsing (radiesthesia). This path winds its way along for 4 km and there are 9 stations along the way. The divining rod hike takes three hours.<\/div>\n

W\u00f6rschach Gorge (W\u00f6rschachklamm):<\/strong><\/div>\n
For thousands of years the W\u00f6rschach stream (W\u00f6rschachbach) has cut its way deep into the rock of the mountainside. The construction of the gorge trail was a pioneering feat. Secure paths take you through the wildly romantic landmark. High above the gorge\u2019s trail, observant visitors are able to spot and identify washed out caves on both sides of the cliffs.<\/div>\n

Altaussee Salt Mine (Salzbergwerk Altaussee):<\/strong><\/div>\n
Seemingly endless tunnels, lined with shimmering walls of rock salt in awesome colours in infinite patterns, lead into the depths of the mountain. Enchanted visitors to the largest active salt mine in Austria are led past the \u201cChamber of Inner Light\u201d and the \u201cChapel of St. Barbara\u201d before riding on two miners\u2019 slides down into the heart of the mountain straight to the subterranean salt lake. The unique orchestration of sound and light makes this lake an unforgettable experience for the entire family.<\/div>\n

Obertraun Giant Ice Cave (Rieseneish\u00f6hle Obertraun):<\/strong><\/div>\n
The Castle of the Holy Grail, Parsifal Dome and King Arthur\u2019s Dome: all of these fairytale names conceal fascinating images of ice and stone which you can marvel at at close range during a visit to the ice caves. Accompanied by experienced cave guides, you can become acquainted with the magical underground world of the Dachstein. The spectacular ice sculptures, gigantic ice curtains and impressive giant icicles will enthral you with their special magic. A mystical world of caves of ice and rock, which will enchant even the youngest visitors.<\/div>\n

Admont Abbey (Benedektinerstift Admont) \u2013 Library and Museum:<\/strong><\/div>\n
The largest monastery library in the world, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Natural History Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Abbey Church, the herb garden, and much more.<\/div>\n

Trautenfels Castle (Schlo\u00df Trautenfels):<\/strong><\/div>\n
Situated at the foot of the imposing Mount Grimming, the Baroque exhibition rooms house fascinating impressions of the natural and cultural history of the district of Liezen. Modern architectural features of multi-faceted presentations motivate and encourage visitors to become acquainted with the region. The viewing tower provides a unique view of the Central Enns Valley and the surrounding mountains. There are ongoing special exhibitions and much more.<\/div>\n

St. Florian\u2019s Parish Church, Aigen (Kirche zum Hl. Floriani Aigen):<\/strong><\/div>\n
The church was designed by the Graz architect Gienke. Contemporary architecture meets modern \u2013 an exceptional combination of rock, glass and wood. The church, one of the most recently built churches in Styria, is primarily a spiritual, cultural and communal meeting point.<\/div>\n
Approx. 15 minutes\u2019 walk along the lakeside path.<\/div>\n

St. John\u2019s Chapel, Hohenberg (Johanneskapelle Hohenberg):<\/strong><\/div>\n
St. John\u2019s Chapel is presumably the oldest surviving church in the Enns Valley and is dedicated to both John the Baptist and John the Evangelist. It is also a Marian shrine.<\/div>\n
The remarkable winged altar, created by Lienhard Astl in about 1520, portrays scenes from the life of St. John.<\/div>\n
Approx. 20 minutes\u2019 walk along an idyllic forest path on Kulm.<\/div>\n

Stalingrad Cross and Chapel (Stalingradkreuz und Kapelle):<\/strong><\/div>\n
Situated at about 1,100 m above sea level, the Cross and Chapel were erected by the Austrian Stalingrad Bund in commemoration of the many soldiers killed and wounded in action in the Battle of Stalingrad. It is a particularly beautiful vantage point from which to survey the entire Enns Valley. It\u2019s a lovely walk from the campsite to the bench (where the background photo on this page was taken from).<\/div>\n

There is a wide range of sporting activities on offer near our campsite \u2013 here is a small selection: Nordic walking \u2013 gorge hikes \u2013 climbing \u2013 canyoning \u2013 rafting \u2013 kayaking \u2013 horse riding \u2013 gliding \u2013 golf \u2013 archery \u2026 to mention just a few. Simply ask at reception \u2013 our staff will be happy to give you further information and a few insider tips.<\/div>\n
Fliegfix sports equipment in Irdning and Stainach: tents, boats and other outdoor sports equipment for sale or rent. Boats can be tried out on the lake.<\/div>\n

Grimming Thermal Spa and The Spa and Vitality Centre in Bad Aussee (Grimmingtherme and Narzissenbad):<\/strong><\/div>\n
If it\u2019s not quite the weather to swim outdoors, we have two very special places on offer as an alternative: it\u2019s only a short distance by car to the Grimming Thermal Spa in Bad Mitterndorf. In addition to the thermal baths and indoor and outdoor pools, there is also a large sauna complex as well as a beauty and wellness centre. www.grimming-therme.com<\/div>\n
The Spa and Vitality Centre in Bad Aussee is divided into two parts: the pool and sauna complex and the health and wellness area offering \u201cmedical wellness\u201d and \u201cmedical fitness\u201d treatment. www.narzissenbadaussee.at<\/div>\n

A paradise for cyclists and hikers<\/strong><\/div>\n
Our campsite is located in the middle of the valley not far from the cycling network, and is the ideal place for a cycling holiday or a stopover.<\/div>\n
For hiking and cycling enthusiasts, there is an inexhaustible variety of tours and destinations which are surrounded by majestic peaks characteristic of our region, such as the gigantic and imposing Mount Grimming. There are signposted footpaths and cycling trails such as the MTB alpine tour or the R7 Enns Valley Cycling Trail (R7 Ennstalradweg). Once you have come to know and love the fascination of our countryside, you\u2019ll be happy to come back again and again.<\/div>\n

The River Enns Cycling Trail R7 (Ennsradweg R7):<\/strong><\/div>\n
Approx. 10 minutes by bike from the campsite. The trail starts in Flachau-Winkel, Salzburg at 1,200 m above sea-level. The cycling trail passes through Radstadt and Schladming, past the majestic Mount Grimming and on to Admont. Here the gushing River Enns carves its way through Ges\u00e4use National Park to the Upper Austrian border and on to Enns, where it then flows into the River Danube.<\/div>\n

The Salzkammergut Cycle Path (R9) (Salzkammergut Radweg (R19))<\/strong><\/div>\n
This 50 km long cycle path, which is extremely demanding in some places, links the Enns Valley with the Ausseerland region and then takes you over the border between Styria and Upper Austria and on to the former \u201cimperial city\u201d of Bad Ischl.<\/div>\n

Schladming-Dachstein mountain bike network<\/strong><\/div>\n
There is a superb mountain bike network with 20 mountain bike trails making the Schladming Dachstein holiday region a true paradise for mountain bikers, promising boundless pleasure. This network has something for everybody, featuring all levels of difficulty \u2013 from idyllic, moderate routes\/paths to the more challenging uphill and downhill tracks. Three signposted routes pass through the Grimming Mountain Region and can in parts be reached by bike directly from the campsite.<\/div>\n

Mountain biking in the Donnersbach Valley (Donnersbachtal)<\/strong><\/div>\n
There are ten signposted mountain bike routes covering a total distance of approx. 180 km, promising mountain bikers pure enjoyment. Different levels of difficulty and varying surfaces guarantee variety and action. Map available free of charge.<\/div>\n
